Publication Ethics

Foreco: Jurnal Kehutanan dan Lingkungan is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against any publication malpractice. This statement outlines the ethical responsibilities of all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher. The journal follows the guidelines and best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).


Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

Authors submitting manuscripts to Foreco: Jurnal Kehutanan dan Lingkungan must ensure that:

  • The manuscript is an original work and has not been published or submitted elsewhere.

  • All data presented are accurate, reliable, and obtained through ethical research practices.

  • Proper acknowledgment of the work of others is given through appropriate citations and references.

  • All listed authors have made significant contributions to the research and approved the final manuscript.

  • Any form of plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or manipulation is strictly prohibited.

  • Conflicts of interest, financial or non-financial, that could influence the research outcomes are clearly disclosed.

  • Research involving humans, animals, or sensitive environmental data complies with relevant ethical and legal standards and has received appropriate ethical approval when required.


Ethical Responsibilities of Editors

Editors of Foreco: Jurnal Kehutanan dan Lingkungan are responsible for:

  • Making publication decisions based solely on the academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance of the manuscript.

  • Ensuring a fair, unbiased, and timely peer-review process.

  • Maintaining confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and reviewer identities.

  • Taking appropriate action in cases of suspected ethical misconduct, including plagiarism, duplicate publication, or data manipulation.

  • Using plagiarism detection tools to screen submitted manuscripts.

  • Avoiding conflicts of interest and recusing themselves from handling manuscripts where such conflicts exist.


Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers are expected to:

  • Conduct objective, constructive, and timely reviews.

  • Treat manuscripts as confidential documents.

  • Identify relevant published work not cited by the authors.

  • Alert the editor to any suspected ethical issues, plagiarism, or substantial similarity with other works.

  • Declare any conflicts of interest and decline review if necessary.


Publisher Responsibilities

The publisher of Foreco: Jurnal Kehutanan dan Lingkungan is committed to:

  • Supporting editorial independence and ethical publishing practices.

  • Ensuring that commercial interests do not influence editorial decisions.

  • Facilitating the implementation of ethical guidelines and corrective actions when necessary.


Handling of Ethical Misconduct

In cases of suspected misconduct, Foreco: Jurnal Kehutanan dan Lingkungan will follow COPE flowcharts and guidelines. Actions may include:

  • Investigation of the complaint

  • Communication with the author(s) for clarification

  • Retraction, correction, or expression of concern where appropriate


Plagiarism and Similarity Check

All manuscripts submitted to Foreco: Jurnal Kehutanan dan Lingkungan are screened using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with unacceptable levels of similarity will be rejected or returned for revision.
