Author Guidelines

1. General Information

Kastrasi: Jurnal Sains Perkopian is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes original research articles, review articles, and conceptual papers related to all aspects of coffee science, covering upstream to downstream activities, business, and policy perspectives.

Manuscripts submitted to this journal must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.

2. Types of Manuscripts

The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  • Original Research Articles

  • Review Articles (systematic or critical reviews)

  • Conceptual or Policy Analysis Papers

3. Language

Manuscripts must be written in English using clear, concise, and academic language. Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to have their manuscripts professionally edited before submission.

4. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be prepared using the following structure:

a. Title
Concise, informative, and reflecting the main content of the manuscript.

b. Author(s) and Affiliation(s)
Include full names, institutional affiliations, and corresponding author email.

c. Abstract
A single paragraph of 150–250 words summarizing the background, objectives, methods, key results, and conclusions.

d. Keywords
Provide 3–5 keywords, arranged alphabetically.

e. Introduction
Clearly states the research background, problem formulation, objectives, and significance of the study.

f. Materials and Methods
Describe the study design, materials, data sources, and analytical methods in sufficient detail to allow replication.

g. Results and Discussion
Present results clearly and discuss them critically in relation to previous studies and relevant theories.

h. Conclusion
Summarize the main findings and highlight implications, limitations, and future research directions.

5. Formatting Requirements

  • Manuscripts should be typed in Times New Roman, 12 pt, single-spaced

  • Paper size: A4, with standard margins

  • Length: 5,000–8,000 words (including references)

  • Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively and provided with clear captions

6. Citation and References

  • References must follow the APA Style (7th edition)

  • Authors are encouraged to cite recent and relevant international journal articles

  • Use of reference management software (e.g., Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote) is recommended

7. Ethical Considerations

  • All manuscripts are subject to plagiarism screening

  • Research involving humans or animals must comply with relevant ethical standards and approvals

  • Any conflict of interest must be disclosed

8. Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process conducted by at least two independent reviewers. Editorial decisions are based on reviewers’ recommendations and the academic quality of the manuscript.

9. Open Access Policy

All articles published in Kastrasi: Jurnal Sains Perkopian are freely accessible without subscription or payment barriers.

10. Article Processing Charges (APCs)

Information regarding article processing charges (if applicable) will be clearly stated on the journal website.

11. Submission

Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the journal’s Online Journal System (OJS). Authors must register and log in before submitting their manuscripts.
